Employers Liability Insurance Cover - designed just for you

Employers Liability Insurance is designed to provide you/your business with cover for your legal liability to protect you against damages claimed for injuries suffered by your employees as a result of working in your business.

How will you define an employee? Do you have the following;

- Full-time and part-time employees

- Self-employed contractors that you hire in

- Temporary staff, apprentices, work experience candidates, trainees and volunteers

Employers Liability Insurance covers you against damages, compensation costs and legal fees as a result of illness or injury suffered by an employee whilst working for you.

A simple example is an employee moving their desk and suffering a back injury as a result.

We use our expertise and knowledge to advise you on the most suitable covers and then we research the market, to secure, for you, the most suitable business insurance package based on the individual requirements of your business.

Tailored Advice – Employers Liability Insurance with Stuarts

When you get in touch with us, one of our commercial account executives will talk with you to assess your needs for your business insurance and guide you through the options. You made need other covers for your business as well as Employers Liability, for example;

  1. There are extensions to cover that may be required- what about employees who are in company vehicles; what about overlaps with motor insurance cover and which policy should be called upon to pay and in what circumstances?
  2. Public Liability Insurance cover may be required to ensure that you are protected against any legal liability from third parties who allege that they suffered injury on your premises or a result of your business activities.
  3. The minimum limit of indemnity that we recommend here is €2,600,000.
  4. You may need Material Damage cover (Material Damage cover refers to Fire, Theft, Storm damage, Burst pipes, and other such perils that could cause a loss to your business) for your buildings, fixtures and fittings and maybe stock as well.
  5. You may want to consider your potential exposure that could arise in relation to other areas like cyber insurance to protect you against any claims arising from areas such as loss of customer data or a cyber attack.

Give us a call and we promise to advise you every step of the way and to make this as simple and straightforward as possible.

What to expect?

Business Insurance policies can have differences between covers, depending on what covers you select, policy exclusions and who the provider is. Employers Liability can form part of a business package policy or it can be a stand alone policy in it’s own right.

What else to consider?

We will look at your business and advise you on the appropriate limit of indemnity required. The market standard tends to €13,000,000 – but this is not always the case.

Optional Extras

There are numerous optional extras for the business to consider and we will discuss and advise you on these. These will include covers such as;

-Directors and Officers Liability

-Goods in Transit/ Marine

-Fleet Insurance

-Public and Products Liability

-Material Damage

-Key Man Insurance – what if a key director of the business was to become seriously ill and unable to contribute to the business?
