What to expect?
Holiday Home Insurance policies can have differences between covers, depending on who the provider is or the type of product that you select, but most policies will cover the following;
Damage to the buildings and its contents caused by fire, storm, theft, falling trees, and for most areas of Ireland cover can be obtained for flood and subsidence.
Cover can usually be obtained for burst pipes/escape of water damage but there are restrictions relating to ensuring that water has been turned off when the holiday home is left unoccupied.
Public and Employers liability up to €3 million.
What else to consider?
Fire brigade charges up to a limit (usually between €1,000 and €3,000)
Replacement locks if keys are stolen
